Hip Replacement
Hip arthritis is a degenerative condition that affects the hip joint and often leads to a significant impairment in the quality of life. The ability to walk, work and live pain free can be adversely affected. In general, the treatment of hip arthritis involves activity modification, exercises, and treatment with anti-inflammatory medications.

People who have failed to improve with these non-operative measures may be candidates for surgical reconstruction. Most often, this is total hip replacement surgery. Total hip replacement surgery is very successful and has excellent short and long term outcomes.

The surgery takes 25 minutes and usually requires a 1 or 2 day hospital stay. The pain relief from removal of the hip arthritis is usually notable within the first week or two. You are now well on your way to getting your life back.
